Marist
Sisters choose ministries
where there is the possibility of fostering the "new
church" (People
of God),
the Marian face of
the church,
showing the tenderness and compassion of
God
to those struggling to believe or belong,
collaborating with, and enabling others
to take up
their role in the church
and in
society.

Sisters visiting people in remote villages
-
They choose places and ministries which allow prophetic
community living, keeping in mind that community itself is mission.
-
They choose places and ministries where no one wishes to
go, especially those which appear least attractive and rewarding.
-
They choose ministries which enable them to journey with and
take a stand for the poor, the excluded, the unchurched, even in frontier
situations.
-
They choose ministries where there is the possibility of
working for social justice and contributing towards the transformation of
society.
-
They choose ministries on the basis of evident, crying
needs, following in the audacious steps of their Founders.
