A Statement of Marist Mission

Our Mission is that of 

Mary in the Church 

as it was coming to birth. 

We are to "be MARY" – bridge-builders, merciful, compassionate. 

We work with those on the edges, in all senses of the word. 

We take "Church" where there is no church, 

especially where there is conflict and division. 

                                        We leave the ninety-nine and go after the lost sheep.

This mission has to happen on several levels:

It leads us to choose specific ministries and places, 

and leave others, 

and to work especially with those groups 

who work for peace and reconciliation 

at local, national and international levels.
