Marist

Marist Laity
Collaboration for Mission
"My
Mother and my Brothers are those who
hear the word of God and keep it."
(Luke
8:21)
"Let Marists always bear in mind that
they belong by
gracious choice to the family
of the Blessed Mary, Mother of God"
(J. C. Colin – Const. 1872:49,50)
From the beginning, our Founders had the vision of a
Marist
Family with several branches.
Today, the tree of Father Colin’s vision is
developing
throughout the world,
through the four religious congregations and
various Marist lay groups.
All these branches, by discovering their common roots,
believe they have a common Marist Mission.
The hope is that each branch will
continue to explore
the richness and complementarity in all the branches.
In
general, collaboration is growing as we seek together
to build a Marian Church.
"The laity are called to participate actively
in the whole life of the
Church;
not only are they to animate the world
with the spirit of Christianity,
but they are to be
witnesses to Christ
in all circumstances and at the very heart
of the community
of mankind."
( Gaudium et Spes 43)
"He called the twelve and began to send them out…"
(Mk
6:7-13)
