The feast of Pentecost, traditionally known as the birthday of the Church, is a time to reflect on the meaning of change, growth, transformation and new life, as we breathe in and listen to the silent voice of the Spirit "renewing the face of the earth". The Disciples were filled with courage to go out and bring the Good news of New life to all, baptising them in the name of the Triune God.
In our Marist Congregation three of our sisters have recently been born into new life, Sister Pancras Verdun in Ireland, Sisters Alban Eccles and Winifred Rose in England, may they enjoy the fruit of their labours here on earth as they enter into the fullness of the Pentecost experience.

	In the Philippines three young women, one from Nigeria and two from Fiji have been born into a new way of life, having been received as Novices into our English speaking Novitiate in Davao on May 9th.2010.

Birisita, Valeria and Yvonne are welcomed into the Marist Congregation by Sister Julie, Regional Leader, Sister Veronica, Sector Leader and Sister Grace, Directress of Novices. They will be joining two other Novices from Papua New Guinea who are in their second year of Novitiate formation, guided by Sisters Grace and Teresia as their Formators.

Here in Rome at the moment there are many pilgrims and visitors. A very significant group of eight hundred Congregational Leaders representing womens' Congregations throughout the world, participated in a meeting here during the second week in May. This event was organised by the UISG, (International Union of Superiors General) and occurs every three years.The theme of the meeting was 'Mysticism and Prophecy in the Church today. The emphasis was placed on the fact that all christians are called to be Mystics and Prophets, experiencing God in his Word and transmitting this Word.The true path is found in the union of these two identities, being a Mystic or a Prophet is not enough, our call is to be a Mystic and a Prophet.
