Events in January and February 2010
 

BlessingHere in the General Administration house in Via Aurelia, Rome, the leadership team has been involved in evaluation of the activities of 2009 and planning for 2010.

Sister Jane Frances, Superior General departed from Rome on January 18th to fulfill her mission of visiting the leadership team and the communities in New Zealand and Australia.

She was privileged to participate in the opening ceremony of the Chavoin Suite for religious education in the Marist College in Mount Albert.

professionTwo young women from Fiji made their first vows in the Philippines on February 2nd. They were accompanied by the Marist Sisters, Marist Fathers, members of their families and friends. As they return to their country of origin we wish them happiness in their ministry there.

In the English speaking Novitiate in the Philippines at present there are three young girls from Papua New Guinea and they will be joined by two girls from Fiji to begin their Novitiate in the near future.

On the other side of the world one girl from Brazil and one from Mexico will continue their candidacy and begin their preparation for entry into the Spanish/Portuguese speaking Novitiate in Brazil.

We continue to pray for the people in Haiti and especially for the young women who have been in initial formation with us in Mexico and are now helping their families to overcome the disaster and rebuild their lives again. We look forward to their returning and continuing their formation in Brazil.

Sister Mary Frances , Regional Leader in Eur Africa accompanied by her Assistant, Sister Christiane have completed their canonical visit to the Sisters in Italy, while Sister Mary has been lending a helping hand with the formation of the Candidates in West Africa.

The Atlantica Leadership Team has been engaged in the evaluation of their first year as a team and planning activities for 2010.

In Asia Pacific the Leadership Team and the sisters have been enjoying holiday time during the month of January returning to their normal activites and varied ministries in February.
