From General Chapter 2001:
A Statement of Marist Mission
In the light of the events of 11 September 2001 and our reflection on it…
We saw that the world of the youthful Jeanne-Marie Chavoin
was turned upside down by the Revolution.
It was a time when all that was held important/valued
was challenged and destroyed.
We see our Marist mission as:
being called to be in the midst of the world in its pain, insecurity, vulnerability and fragility.
being called to offer a presence that brings forth new life, faith, hope
building relationships, reconciliation; not putting our faith "in what our hands have made" (Hosea 14:4)
being nourished and nourishing others with God’s word and eucharistic presence.
